First Quarter Moon in Taurus Weekly Horoscopes

January 24, 2018 0 Comments

day 24 drawing

This is a week to ground. Our First Quarter Moon in Taurus on Wednesday is a reminder to slow down and simplify. Stop rushing and pause long enough to eat a nourishing meal without fast food or doing it on the run—or even distracting yourself with the Internet while chewing. Get back to the basics. Get back to your body. Get back to the breath. The big news of the week is the Mercury-Pluto merger for pushing our thoughts into dark and obsessive places–especially in the Capricorn terrain of your horoscope. Next, on Friday we have Mars leaving the passionate and retaliatory waters of Scorpio and powering up the fiery and expansive (read: overdoing it!) stars of Sagittarius. If Saturn’s passage through Sagittarius over the past few years didn’t teach you the pitfalls of overpromising and overkill, Mars could take you on a crash-course lesson in not becoming the dude in the 10 of Wands Tarot card.

Weekly 22 – 28 January 2018

Aries:

This is quieter week on the cosmic front without any new or Full Moons, but there is lunar energy flooding your very own sign from the start of the workweek. With the Moon in Aries on Monday and Tuesday, you’re flying high and able to accomplish far more in a single bound than a mere human – you’re a total superhero now, Aries. By the week’s end the astro-news gets an even bigger headline: Mars, your ruling planet, moves into Sagittarius on Friday. This inspires a major bout of wanderlust over the next six weeks or so. Get on the road or in the air, stat.

Taurus:

The big news this week is the Moon in your sign from Wednesday to Friday morning. This is your peak energy phase, the time of the month when you’re at your very best – inspired and inspiring in both personal and professional realms. But that’s not all that’s on tap this week – Mars, the planet of action, drive and stamina, is moving into your house of sex. OH YES. The next six weeks could offer some of your sexiest moments of the first half of 2018. If you’re single, this could really motivate you to find a new partner.

Gemini:

This week starts slow but the ends in a wild cosmic crescendo. Focus on projects that require collaboration on Monday and Tuesday, while the Moon is in your house of colleagues and friends. Wednesday and Thursday are quieter days thanks to the Moon’s position in your dream zone, but Friday brings major astro-mojo. Mars, the planet of action, drive and passion, moves into your relationship zone today. This wakes up your desire for a one-to-one connection, but we warned – it can also make you a bit aggressive in your interactions with partners for the next six weeks or so.

Cancer:

This week is free of New and Full Moons, keeping you in a relatively comfortable emotional state. On Monday and Tuesday you’re deeply immersed in career issues, and by Thursday you’re open to connection and collaboration. The major astro-shift of the week comes on Friday, when Mars (the planet of passion and drive) moves into the sign of Sagittarius. This plugs you into the matrix of productivity for the next six weeks, Cancer. Yes, you may be more active, engaged, and busy than you’ve been in a very long time. Just don’t work yourself to complete exhaustion.

Leo:

This week brings you all the fire you could wish for and then some, Leo. The workweek begins with the Moon in Aries, your sister sign. This makes you crave adventure and mind-expansion – the boring day-to-day won’t cut it. Things are calmer and cooler on Wednesday and Thursday, so bring it down a notch. By Friday the fire begins to rise again as Mars, the planet of passion and action, moves into Sagittarius, your other sister sign. This sets you up for six weeks of love, romance, and mega-creativity. You’re hungry for of all of them, and willing to do what it takes to get what you want.

Virgo:

This week brings a bit of a cooling off period, at least for the first few days. Without any major lunations on tap, the emotional tone is smoother and mellower. With the Moon in your sex zone on Monday and Tuesday, your passions are overflowing. But by Friday things get even wilder, as Mars, the planet of action and drive, moves into fire-sign Sagittarius. This set up six weeks of passionate energy in your home zone, Virgo. You might be a bit quicker to anger than usual, but on the other hand, you’ll have the mojo to get any and all home-based projects done.

Libra:

This week is thankfully less intense than last week, and the air energy is really beginning to permeate the atmosphere – every day you’re feeling a bit more comfortable in your own skin. Balance will get you everywhere, Libra. But things get a bit wild on Friday, when Mars (the planet of passion, action and drive) moves into your communication zone. There was a lot of chaos in this part of your chart in December thanks to the retrograde – for the next few weeks you’ll have the energy and mojo to set it all right.

Scorpio:

This week should feel a bit quieter and bit more stable – with no Full or New Moons on tap, you can focus on the practical matters. And when the Moon goes into your opposite sign on Wednesday and Thursday, you’ll really feel the urge to take a back seat to any drama that erupts around you. A major cosmic change arrives on Friday when Mars, your ruling planet, finally leaves your own sign after an extended stay. In some ways this could come as a relief – the intensity has been at a high volume for the last six weeks or so. Moneymaking is your mantra now.

Sagittarius:

The pace of your life is about to pick up, Sadge – waaaaaaay up. That’s because Mars, the planet of action, passion and drive, moves into your own stars this Friday. You may be a bit more aggressive overall, but just because you know what you want and when you want it, and the time is now (or probably yesterday). For the next six weeks, prepare to be a bit hot-headed and aggressive. You’ll need to schedule in cool-down periods or you may push yourself – or others – too far.

Capricorn:

Your birthday season ended last week, but with a gaggle of planets still in Capricorn, the spotlight hasn’t exactly left your stars. This Friday will give you a chance for a bit of a respite, one that will last for the next six weeks. With Mars (the planet of action, passion and drive) moving into your dream zone, turning your focus inward is the only option. Your mind may be a bit overactive and highly stimulated, so your best cure is meditation, deep breathing, and any kind of therapeutic option you can think of, from massages to deep conversations with close friends.

Aquarius:

The first full week of the Sun’s trip through your own sign is upon you, Aquarius. Even if your birthday falls in February, you’re starting to feel like you’re on top of the world – or at least you should be soon. With Mars moving into Sagittarius on Friday, the party is about to truly get started. Your house of friends, groups, and long-term goals will be lit for the next six weeks. This is ideal for passionate collaboration or just plain wild fun with friends. The only downside is that what you think is healthy assertiveness may be interpreted as straight up aggression.

Pisces:

This is a chill week overall, Pisces. You’re focused on moneymaking on Monday and Tuesday and can really get things done if you don’t let yourself get distracted. Friday brings a major astro-shift as Mars, the planet of action, moves into the sign of Sagittarius, where he’ll hang out for about six weeks. This will be an amazing boon to your professional life – you’ve got the drive and passion to elevate your status and realize your ambitions now. Just make sure that you avoid being inappropriately aggressive with colleagues, even when it’s warranted. Take a deep breath and vent your frustrations gracefully.
