Saturn moves into the dark and mystical waters of Scorpio on October 5th, 2012, and the Saturn Sisters, Elle UK astrologers and authors of Surviving Saturn’s Return, are here to initiate you. Come join us on an intense journey to the heart of your psyche, where you’ll learn to embrace healing and transformation without fear in the turbulent years beyond 2012.

From November 10th to the 14th, we’ll be teaching in breathtaking Tulum, Mexico at Casa Violeta (a stunning eco-resort recently featured in the New York Times Styles section). We’ll mine the deeps of the Saturn in Scorpio experience, preparing you for the next two-and-a-half years of chthonic immersion.

Our Offerings:

There will be two daily workshops with Stefanie & Sherene, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, plus several special evening rituals on the beach. An accomplished yoga instructor will be on hand to teach yoga before breakfast each day. Plus, you’ll have plenty of your own time to relax on the private and pristine beach. The on-premises sweat lodge offers another opportunity to dive into the deep transformational journey of Saturn in Scorpio, under the guidance of a local Mayan shaman. This retreat will take place amongst Mayan ruins just one month before the changing of the Mayan calendar on December 21st 2012, which is the long-anticipated ending of the last 13 Baktuns and the beginning of a new age on Earth. There couldn’t be a more auspicious, numinous moment to go deep within.

Special note for women born during Saturn’s previous sojourns though Scorpio (between November 30th 1982 to May 6th 1983 and August 25th 1983 to November 17th, 1985) OR October 1953 to October 1956.  YOU are entering your Saturn Return. The Kalisis retreat will provide a map to help you navigate the treacherous territory of the next 2.5 years. In addition to all the intense purging we’ll be doing, we’ll offer specific lectures, readings, and experiential adventures for Saturn Returners. If you have Sun in Scorpio, Scorpio rising, Moon in Scorpio or planets in Taurus, Aquarius or Leo, this retreat is also very special for you – you will be deeply affected by Saturn’s transit through Scorpio. If you’re around 35 or 42, you’re currently experiencing intense Saturn-to-natal Saturn transits (the square and opposition.) Kalisis will speak directly to your experience as well.

Excising shame; becoming the subject rather than the object of your own desires; loving your body/sexuality; learning the true nature of rage and owning your righteous anger; moving beyond patriarchal ideas of women’s beauty; astral travel/lucid dreaming/akashic records; embracing the fierce feminine; understanding the will to power in your own psyche; healing unhealthy S & M tendencies in your relationships; understanding the roots of fear of change; getting to the heart of “other people’s money”-going beyond the stress of debt, taxes, and the material realm; understanding orgasm as a liberating force.

Saturn in Scorpio: What is the essence of the deepest, most powerful sign of the zodiac and what happens to our lives, relationships, and our culture when Saturn returns to Scorpio for the first time in thirty years? We’ll uncover the myths, archetypes, and their real world consequences and explore your own personal transformation and rebirth over the next 2.5 years. This will include a Saturn, Scorpio, Pluto and Mars in your horoscope.

The Dark Goddess meets the Mother Goddess: Who is Kali, the Hindu goddess of death and why do we need to embrace her? Kali is death in the service of life. She is our fierce inner strength to let go of all that no longer serves us. Isis is the Egyptian goddess of nurturing and birth. If we cling to one and deny the other, our psyches will be forever split. How can we integrate both of these potent inner goddesses, giving them sacred space to help us grow?

The Madonna/Whore complex and the dark side of the feminine: Here we get into the nitty-gritty, everyday issues women face when they try to own their desire and their sexuality. Patriarchy has a million and one ways to cast us either in the role of the mother or the whore, with little room in-between. How do we carve out our own space and create a more just and creative world for women in the process?

Eros, Psyche & Bluebeard: This workshop explores how we can mine our relationships as a tool for consciousness. Relationship patterns are a mirror for our own inner relationship between the masculine and feminine. We’ll learn how to confront the killer within so that we are no longer subject to power games, emotional abuse or other forms of psychological S & M. We’ll go much deeper than 50 Shades of Grey would ever dare.

The Chrysalis:

What has our experience of passion and loss taught us up until now? Have we integrated the lessons? What does it mean to die before we die? How do we create in order to destroy? Where do our outworn attachments create stagnation in our lives? Where is the need for security holding us back from embodying our own fierce feminine and sexy, sacred aliveness?

Retreat Details:

Fee: $1,108 USD includes your oceanfront cabana for four nights, and your workshop fee. An initial non-refundable deposit of $499 is due by October 15th, and the balance of the fee is due by November 2nd. (Flights to Cancun must be booked separately.) Let us know if you need a roommate or are coming with a friend — cabanas are double-occupancy.

Meals:

Continental breakfast from the on-site restaurant included with your retreat fee, including coffee, tea, pastries, and cereals.

Additional items are available through the restaurant and can be charged to your room. You can also book spa treatments, massage, and Tai Chi lessons through Casa Violeta. The Saturn Sisters can arrange individual tarot readings, in-depth personal astrology readings, and Polarity Therapy sessions at a discount.

Tentative Daily Schedule:

7:30 am: Meditation

8:00 – 9:00 am: Yoga

9:00 – 11:00 am: Breakfast

11:00 am – 12:30 pm: Morning workshop

12:30 – 3:00 pm: Free time to hang on the beach, swim, snorkel and explore Tulum

3:00 – 4:30 pm:  Afternoon workshop

Getting to Casa Violeta in Tulum, Mexico:

All flights to Cancun Airport in Mexico (Delta and Jetblue fly from JFK in NYC).

By Public Transportation:

Public transportation involves taking 2 buses (1 bus transfers at Playa del Carmen) to Ado Bus Station in Tulum. Take a taxi (about 15 minutes to Casa Violeta). Total travel time is about 4 hours, total cost is about $25.

By Casa Violeta Shuttle:

Casa Violeta offers a pickup service from and to Cancun Airport.

A driver will be waiting for you at the taxi area once you get out the airport with a sign ‘Casa Violeta’ sign. The service offers car or mini bus depending on the number of people that are with your party.

The ride takes 2 hours and is door-to-door service.

Pricing is as follows (All rates are for the ride not per person):

for 1-2 persons $99, for 3-6 persons $115,

& for 7 or more persons $120 (which can be split)

For RETURN Service to Airport rate is $85.
