The Week of May 25 – 31
Aries:
It’s one of those weeks when every five steps you take forward require at least four back. Aside from Mercury’s continued chaotic presence in your house of communication (throwing all your conversations, texts, emails, and Facebook interactions into disarray) Neptune is making a murky mark on the whole week. On Monday the planet of illusion contacts your ruler Mars in harsh square. This can make you feel tired and defeated, Aries – and it could bring up some issues of power delusion. Neptune squares off with Mercury on Friday and then duels with the Sun over the weekend. Trust but verify.

Taurus:

This is one of those weeks when you might find yourself saying, “I don’t know where I end and you begin” – but that sounds more romantic than it might be in real life. Neptune, the planet of illusion, delusion, and deception, squares a series of planets, starting on Monday and ending on Friday. Mars, Mercury and the Sun are all in your money zone, and Neptune has been in your networking zone for several years. This translates thusly: don’t mix money and friendship, at least this week. This is particularly relevant now as the retrograde is still moving through your financial zone.

Gemini:

You might feel invisible this week, Gemini – or like you simply want to disappear to avoid stress or retribution. Mercury (your ruling planet) continues to move backwards through your own sign, putting pressure on your ego and persona – you’re feeling some concern about your self-image now. Neptune is joining the messy mix, beginning on Monday when it squares off with action-planet Mars (also currently in your sign). As the week progresses, the planet of illusion will make more confusing aspects to Mercury, concluding with the Sun at the end of the weekend. Don’t don rose-colored glasses, especially when it comes to career matters.

Cancer:

It’s a pretty weird week, Cancer, so prepare for situations that make you question both reality and fantasy. Mercury is retrograde in your house of dreams, causing you to trip the nostalgic light fantastic – you might see some ghosts of your past, at least in your head. But it gets more complicated on Monday when Mars, the planet of action and passion, duels with Neptune, the planet of illusion. Here’s where the fantasy bit comes in – you might be tempted with something that seems too good to be true, something you truly desire. This continues through Sunday: ask questions before you make decisions.

Leo:

This is one of those weeks when you’re not sure what’s up and what’s down. Mercury is retrograde in your house of friendship, bringing up weird issues with friends old and new. But things get even stranger as Neptune works its way through the week in conversation with a series of planets. On Monday, Thursday and Sunday the planet of illusion and delusion makes your entire life seem like a kind of wacky funhouse mirror. Hookups with casual acquaintances could be on the table, but it’s really hard to tell who might be a long-time lover and who might be just a good friend.

Virgo:

It’s a pretty weird, madcap week in the stars, Virgo, especially for your relationships. To begin with your ruler Mercury has been retrograde since early last week, so you’re already deep in the waters of your own recent relationship history. But Neptune (the planet in charge of dreams, illusions and delusions) is taking the energy to whole different level as it touches off Mars, Mercury and the Sun, starting on Monday and ending at the weekend. Your career and your one-to-one partnerships may not be what they seem – pay close attention to the details without becoming maniacally obsessed.

Libra:

This week is not exactly what it seems on the surface. Sure, you’ll have your standard technical failures and communication breakdowns – par for the course when the planet of talking and thinking travels backwards. But there’s something else at play this week, and that something is called Neptune, known to some as the “planet of pink fog.” Neptune can have the effect of making you see things other than they are, and as this planet battles with Mars, Mercury and the Sun over the course of the week, you’ll get a sense of the vast difference between fantasy and reality.

Scorpio:

With Mercury still causing all kinds of chaos (especially for your love/sex life) you’ve been looking for something to set an anchor in. Unfortunately this week may not bring exactly that, but it should bring something that feels like magic. “Wait and see” should still be your operative plan, especially for the next seven days. The big issue this week is Neptune, the planet of illusion, delusion and deception. This murky planet likes to throw shadows on the wall and make you chase them. Mars, Mercury and the Sun will war with Neptune as the week proceeds, and your intimate relations could be super confusing.

Sagittarius:

Your relationships could be a minefield of confusion this week, Sadge, so don’t try to nail anyone down on anything. Mercury has been retrograde in your house of others since last week. But the confusing vibe deepens on Monday, as Neptune, the planet of illusion, squares off with Mars, the planet of passion and action. This is one of those “hurry up and wait” aspects, or better yet “Come close/NO STAY AWAY.” That’s because Neptune is currently in your house of close companions while a series of other planets are in your relationship zone. You’ll know what you want in a few weeks: wait it out.

Capricorn:

The stars are not exactly practical this week, Capricorn, and you might find the whole ordeal a bit frustrating. The first issue is that communication planet Mercury went retrograde in your work zone last week, making you less than adept at tending to details. (You’re usually amazing at this.) On Monday Neptune, the planet of illusion, squares off with a series of planets, starting with Mars. Because it’s currently sitting in your communication zone, you’re already experiencing more poetry than precision. The entire week has a quality of metaphor, which is rather magical, but not great for getting things done.

Aquarius:

Finances, romance and creativity are all mixed up this week, Aquarius. Mercury has been retrograde in your love and pleasure zone since last week, making you think about old lovers, past romantic patterns, and discarded artistic projects. But this week Neptune steps onto the cosmic stage, bringing your financial situation to the fore along with everything else. You’re thinking about your values and your true worth – but you can’t seem to get any specific answers on anything. Neptune argues with a series of other planets through the week, so you really won’t get a break from the constant confusion. Just don’t blame yourself, and try to let it go.

Pisces:

You’re in for quite a week, Pisces, as your ruling planet Neptune is extremely active. It squares off with Mars on Monday, Mercury on Thursday, and the Sun on Sunday. Short translation: you probably won’t know which way is forward, unless you’re really, really careful with your life-map. This pattern will have a very strong effect on your self-concept – the way that others see you is shifting right now. Your home zone is getting the brunt of the current Mercury Retrograde phase, and this week you may get a very strong message about something that happened many years ago – when you were a child.
