Full Moon in Aries: October 11, 2011

Occupy Urgency

This is the Now Moon! Do you feel the sense of emergency in the air? Occupy Wallstreet is such an awesome representation of this Aries-Libra polarity. The way of the peaceful warriors: fighting for justice with a fierce sense of urgency and cooperative simplicity.

What injustices from ourselves or others must we face in our personal lives? Where have we been too complacent?

This is our annual reminder to face life on life’s terms but with the spirit of a boxer—not as a wimp and certainly not as a victim. In other words, not “yessing” life while secretly grumbling and bitching that we aren’t getting what we want. There’s no side-stepping, half-stepping or pussy-footing for that matter while the Moon rages full in Aries. Putting off action for a later date is courting disaster. Love relationships get heated and crisis erupts like a house on fire when egos flare. If we feel we’re being treated second class—time to pull out the big guns. And if the need for immediacy is met with laziness and complacency, the war is on. This is a time for action. A sense of urgency can be felt all around. Patience is in short supply so don’t push buttons or promise things that you aren’t ready or willing to act on immediately. [...]

Sagittarius Full Moon

[ 0 ] June 15, 2011 |

This eclipse is a glaring reminder of the urgency to take our meds before someone gets hurt. Ideally in 2011, the meds would include first and foremost some form of meditation and deeper breathing. We’re forced to confront our own paradoxical nature as well as our dualities and contradictions–as painful as it is. Where do we say one thing and do another? Where do we talk out of both sides of our mouth and still feel clueless about where the real truth resides? You know those conversations or emails you have with an ex where you feel the need to both love and hurt at the same time? That’s where the Sagittarius eclipse comes in: we are forced to confront the cross your heart and swear to die level of truth.

Chiron Bids Adieu To Aquarius: The Wounded Social Network

[ 2 ] February 8, 2011 |

What is Chiron? An asteroid, and a pain in the ass mythological figure also known as “the wounded healer.” Chiron bids farewell to the constellation of Aquarius after spending seven years (Feb. 21, 2005 and Feb. 8, 2011) triggering every social, group and friendship wound we’ve ever felt. The Chiron in Aquarius finale packed a series of punches on the collective since 2005. Sorting out the needs of the group versus the needs of the individual is never a simple affair.

Do we lose ourselves in groups — devolving into sheep, girls gone wild or conformists? Or do groups inspire, give us strength in numbers and sense of belonging, and unify us around a kindred theme? Are we prone to the horrible disease of “group think” where we suddenly lose the ability to make rational, individually informed decisions? Or do we succumb to the lowest vibration or caveman denominator in our midst? We’re no strangers to group contagion, the stupidity of trends and “Lord of the Flies.” Chiron in Aquarius at its worst: Super Bowl Sunday and Facebook. [...]

Sympathy for the Devil: Moon-Mercury-Mars-Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn Exalted in Libra

[ 0 ] December 8, 2010 |

With four planets in the sign of the taskmaster: it’s time to get serious about time. The Devil will find work for idle hands — don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today — these are all quotes straight from Saturn. The more you procrastinate, the more you’re begging for depression to set in. We beat ourselves up for actions not taken only adding to the weight of the learned helplessness response of “what’s the point?” Depression is Saturn’s domain: anger turned inward. We’re often hardest on ourselves, and that is not the way to make constructive change. Saturn rules perfectionism. We want to get it right and cut out all the time-wasting, superfluous, superficial nonsense. If we can accept what is no longer working in our behavior patterns and have the faith and patience in ourselves to work towards making the correction, we can turn Saturn into our ally. Perfectionism can be a form of self-hatred and self-sabotage. Masochism is unconscious Capricorn and Saturn. It’s all about intention and focus. We must be true to our own path — this is also dharma. Time is in our mind. It is an illusion. It expands or contracts depending on our level of consciousness. When we are present and focused — time expands. When we structure our time — it expands. When set an intention — time expands. When we space out — time contracts.

Full Moon in Pisces

Full Moon in Pisces

[ 0 ] August 25, 2010 |

In the midst of early east coast autumnal weather, summer somehow feels like eons ago. And what a crazy summer: the planets have been in retrograde or a perpetual war since the early summer eclipse get-go. Moments of magic, moments of chaos, fear, humiliation and every other Capricorn demon — and most importantly a whole lotta growing up compliments of the strong Saturn-Pluto influence. Hopefully you’ve had a chance to make or experience some good art — of the dark and deep variety in homage to this intense planetary duo. Think Doestevsky, T.S. Eliot, Camus, Dylan, Arthur Miller, The Doors and Stravinsky (born or channeled best work under Saturn-Pluto aspects).

Here we are under the hazy auspices of a Full Moon in Pisces, hence please pardon the chaotic tour de force writing style sure to come. The left-brain seems to be on extended hiatus so consider the following reflections a free-form-free-association-free write to sift through like song lyrics or a poem. Pisces prefers piles, process, symbolism, metaphors, illusions, imagery and soma. Linear thinkers need not open this attachment. Pisces begs us to unlock the power of the right brain through accessing the subtle body: music, dance, not moving until we feel moved, metaphor, compassion, dance, meditation, being near the ocean etc. [...]

Cancer Eclipse 2010: The Leaky Vessel

Cancer Eclipse 2010: The Leaky Vessel

[ 0 ] July 11, 2010 |

New Moon in Cancer Eclipse Themes:

In the past few days everyone has been asking what in God’s name is going on? Why does it feel like the world is falling apart? Is it a Mercury Retrograde? Why is everyone sick, dying, breaking up, losing their minds?

It’s always interesting to look at what’s happening in the media to see what themes the universe is spelling (more like screaming) out for us.

Cancer archetypes & metaphors from the collective:

The Oil Spill:

“As oil again again flows freely, crews are working around the clock to replace a containment cap on the ruptured underwater well in the Gulf of Mexico”, BP said Saturday.

Messages:

Are we leaky vessels?

Adopting faulty methods of containment?

Ignoring the problem?

What black substance is leaking at the core of our psyches?

What are we doing to clean up our own emotional messes?

Since we are on the topic of Dubya . . .

Watch how Saturn is patiently hanging out behind the scenes in Georgie’s 12th house along with his sun. Who is this puppet? The 12th house rules illusions, delusions and hidden enemies . . . When Saturn pulls back the magic curtain and exposes more and more of the real story it will go a little [...]

House of Sand and Fog

[ 0 ] January 14, 2004 |

The Movie House of Sand and Fog is the perfect archetypal representation of Saturn in Cancer: Our universal quest for home, for a piece of land to call our own. It really pulls on that part of our psyches that’s longing for a place where we truly feel we belong. What does it mean to [...]

Amber Alerts

[ 0 ] January 11, 2004 |

Stop kidnapping the kids! All these Amber alerts. What is going on with these loose cannons with the last name of Jones? (Davy not included, as far as I know.) This is a sign of Saturn in Cancer gone awry. I was also reading in the Crowley astrology bible (yes as in real testament you [...]
