“Just because you’re paranoid, don’t mean they’re not after you.” — Kurt Cobain (Pisces) On August 31, the full Blue Moon (“blue” meaning the second full Moon in the same month) in the mystical and illusive world of Pisces is a reminder to get back in touch with our souls — and our soles….
“Find the person who will love you because of your differences and not in spite of them and you have found a lover for life.” -Leo Buscaglia Have you all survived July’s heavy-duty drama and daily tension? Enter the electrifying gift of the Full Moon in Aquarius on the first day of August. If…
This emotional edgy and overly sensitive New Moon has been tweaking our nervous systems and emotional thresholds for the past few days. Emotional turbulence is a strong undercurrent and there is very little reason or rationale for many of the tidal wave of temper tantrums that have been building since Saturday. The tension between the cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn) continues. And thus, those are the signs most affected by this new Moon, so take note if your birthday falls into one of the above categories.
Our relationships, our family patterns, our career issues and our ego trips are all being put to serious test. Questions like: are you operating out of your highest integrity? Are you comparing yourself too much to others? Do you allow the destructive sides of competition to inhibit your progress? Do you express your anger and emotions in a constructive and direct way before resentments build? […]
The god of war is entering the sign of peace and balance on July 3. It’s easy to understand why this pairing might be a detrimental match. Mars likes to tangle — and in a very direct fashion. Libra prefers to keep things nice, and avoids nasty confrontations. Mars likes to make things happen pronto, and Libra prefers to stall while carefully weighing out every decision. Mars adores action, and Libra tends to be passive.
Hence, this pairing is often associated with passive-aggressive maneuvers, frustration and repressed anger. Sadly, passive-aggression often leads to internalizing the anger, which then leads to reactive-formation: i.e. imagining that everyone hates you. This is just to give you a sense of how challenging the combo is, and to explain why it may feel more uncomfortable than usual to be in our anger — let alone express it directly.
On Tuesday, July 3, the full Moon will be one of the most potent and potentially combustible of the year. Capricorn is cardinal Earth sign, ruling our integrity, bone structure and moral fabric. Full Moons are culmination points in our lives, where the issues inherent in the zodiac sign reach some kind of fever pitch. With Capricorn, we are being confronted by cracks in our integrity. Since Capricorn is ruled by Saturn — boundaries, father complexes, rules — many of these issues are sure to come to a head this week.
I don’t know about you, but it’s only a few days into this retrograde and I’ve managed to commit every relationship suicide move possible. Venus is now offering us heaps of wisdom about the dire necessity of radical forgiveness, self-love and valuing ourselves and others. She is also giving us the chance to repair relationships from the past or present. Expect to revisit previous relationship ground where there is still unfinished karmic business.

The planet of beauty, love and relationships goes into her rare retrograde state (approximately once every twenty months for right around the famous 40 day trial period) on 15 May in the “double your pleasure” sign of Gemini. The sign of the Twins is known for all kinds of duality, bipolarity, changeability and other mercurial tricks. It is also a sign of extreme intelligence when the higher octave of the constellation is developed. The lower level reveals more of the “all over the map” A.D.D. side of The Twins. Gemini is also known as the archetype of the Lovers in Tarot constellating life lessons around integrating the masculine and feminine sides of our psyche. So when the goddess of beauty and love expresses herself through this airy, dual and mental realm you can imagine there will be plenty of back-and-forth confusion in the relationship department while our minds attempt to sort out thoughts, notions, concepts and words that may be in complete contradiction to our heart. Good luck. Can you embrace the inherent paradox, contradiction and oppositions that your relationships bring in order to expand your consciousness and move you beyond “black and white” thinking? Gemini is about flexibility, variety and novel solutions so if you can apply these gifts of Gemini into your world of dating, mating and relating, you’ll reap the benefits of this powerful phase.
This is the Now Moon! Do you feel the sense of emergency in the air? Occupy Wall Street is such an awesome representation of this Aries-Libra polarity. The way of the peaceful warriors: fighting for justice with a fierce sense of urgency and cooperative simplicity.
What injustices from ourselves or others must we face in our personal lives? Where have we been too complacent?
This is our annual reminder to face life on life’s terms but with the spirit of a boxer—not as a wimp and certainly not as a victim. In other words, not “yessing” life while secretly grumbling and bitching that we aren’t getting what we want. There’s no side-stepping, half-stepping or pussy-footing for that matter while the Moon rages full in Aries. Putting off action for a later date is courting disaster. Love relationships get heated and crisis erupts like a house on fire when egos flare. If we feel we’re being treated second class—time to pull out the big guns. And if the need for immediacy is met with laziness and complacency, the war is on. This is a time for action. A sense of urgency can be felt all around. Patience is in short supply so don’t push buttons or promise things that you aren’t ready or willing to act on immediately. […]
This eclipse is a glaring reminder of the urgency to take our meds before someone gets hurt. Ideally in 2011, the meds would include first and foremost some form of meditation and deeper breathing. We’re forced to confront our own paradoxical nature as well as our dualities and contradictions–as painful as it is. Where do we say one thing and do another? Where do we talk out of both sides of our mouth and still feel clueless about where the real truth resides? You know those conversations or emails you have with an ex where you feel the need to both love and hurt at the same time? That’s where the Sagittarius eclipse comes in: we are forced to confront the cross your heart and swear to die level of truth.
