New Moon in Cancer: Some Day You Will Ache Like I Ache – The Saturn Sisters New Moon in Cancer: Some Day You Will Ache Like I Ache – The Saturn Sisters

And they say in the end
You’ll get bitter just like them
And they steal your heart away
When the fire goes out you better learn
To fake
It’s better to rise than fade away …

Hey you were right
Named a star for your eyes
Did you freeze did you weep
Turn to gold, baby, sleep

–Courtney Love (Cancer)

This emotional edgy and overly sensitive New Moon has been tweaking our nervous systems and emotional thresholds for the past few days. Emotional turbulence is a strong undercurrent and there is very little reason or rationale for many of the tidal wave of temper tantrums that have been building since Saturday. The tension between the cardinal signs (Aries, Libra, Cancer and Capricorn) continues. And thus, those are the signs most affected by this new Moon, so take note if your birthday falls into one of the above categories.

Our relationships, our family patterns, our career issues and our ego trips are all being put to serious test. Questions like: are you operating out of your highest integrity? Are you comparing yourself too much to others? Do you allow the destructive sides of competition to inhibit your progress? Do you express your anger and emotions in a constructive and direct way before resentments build?

Our mind is like sewage water. –Ammachi

The way out of this emotional morass is to stay grounded in your feelings. Listen to your intuition without exception. The best advice for surviving this potentially volatile new Moon is to stay cool, calm and collected. You are being tested to do the right thing. Family and friends may have their opinions about what you should do but unless you follow your gut there may be pitfalls and resentments to come. Only you know what constitutes the right thing.

We must wash away the mud, the stench of negativity. Our mind is like a garbage can carrying around all of our past hurts. This can even cause us to break down. –Ammachi

Cancer is the sign associated with home, security and the vast spectrum of our moods and emotions. Use this new Moon as a reset. Cancer can be a time of emotional reactiveness but this is the perfect time to commit to staying centered. Refuse to give in to your insecurities. Once you see how destructive your negative emotions can be, you’ll cling to neutral ground and promote peace over discord. Patience, love and forgiveness become the medicine to heal the wounds of the past.

The cause of anger is never outside but within. It is not another person that causes it, but our past emotional wounds. –Ammachi

How do we honor all sides of this intense cardinal cross? Uranus in Aries asks that we don’t lose ourselves in our relationships. The unique “I Am” principle must be embodied to fully honor the “otherness” of the other instead of trying to secretly colonize them as Jungian, Hollis has said. To give respect to Saturn in Libra, we must play fairly and honor our commitments. Do we consider where the other person is coming from? Do we insist on having our own way or do we find a way to accommodate and retain the harmony in our relationships with the proper balance of give and take? Mars in Libra shows the detrimental effects of suppressing or internalizing our frustration. On the plus side, Mars in Libra shows us how much energy can be generated when we work in harmony with another. The Sun and New Moon in Cancer require we feel into our gut and use our sensitivity to nurture ourselves and others rather than fall prey to the moods and momentary reactions that the ever-changing emotional spectrum can generate. Pluto in Capricorn demands that we constantly let go and even destroy all which no longer supports our true psychic infrastructure. Integrity or bust! So if you feel like you’re being pulled apart at the seams, it’s no wonder considering the intensity of this cardinal cross psychic crucifixion. Just remember that pain is the illusion … and all of this stretching and pulling is simply in service of cracking the stone heart wide open.
